Project |
Create a board of Realtors that supports the commercial broker in New Mexico |
|
Location |
New Mexico |
|
Year |
1995-1997 |
|
History: |
Two decades of commercial brokers led the Albuquerque Board of Realtors, a residential board of Realtors with the hopes of spinning off a separate commercial identity that would support the Commercial Realtor. |
|
Problem: |
Funding, initiative, bureaucracy, and membership |
|
Solution: |
Develop a commercial multiple listing service, CDROM product that contained aerial photos of every square mile of the city, and offer full Realtor services for 50% of existing membership costs.
Stack the board with the best and brightest and create a “team” that could recruit, solve problems, and add value to the commercial realtor. |
|
Results: |
First year membership topped 275, negotiated lower dues with RANM, negotiated management contract with Albuquerque Board of Realtors, gained NAR approval, and offered unparalleled products and services to the Commercial Realtor. |
|
Involvement: |
Task force chair, First president (2 year term), developer of first CARNM multiple listing service, developed CARNM cdrom and website. |
