This one offered Mac laptop owners the ability to turn a little used SD card slot into a permanent storage drive.<\/p>\n<p>Reminiscent of Apples\u00a0packaging,<a href=\"http:\/\/theniftyminidrive.com\/\">NiftyDrive<\/a> did a nice job on packing and labeling their product:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"NiftyDrive-032013 (1)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-1.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"611\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I ordered the 64 gigabyte version for <a>Apple Macbook Air<\/a> (it was not available for my Mac Retina 13&#8243;), and I have to admit, I like the design and fit of the product.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a photo of what it looks like installed flush with my MacbookAirs SD Card slot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"NiftyDrive-032013 (4)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-4.jpg\" width=\"479\" height=\"244\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a>\u00a0<\/a>The product includes the holder (shuttle?), the MiniSDCard and the nifty logo hook which is used to remove the holder.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1392\" alt=\"NiftyDrive-032013 (3)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-3.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-3.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.canteraconsultants.com\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/NiftyDrive-032013-3-300x140.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So how do I use it?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve made a backup of all my data and put it on that drive &#8211; its small enough to be removed and put into my wallet (the mini sd card), and permanently installed on the mac so it doesn&#8217;t get accidentally used.<\/p>\n<p>All in all it makes a great interim backup tool.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nifty Drives is another Kickstarter.com project.
