iTunes updated to version 11

Dec 14
2013

Many iPhone, iPad and computer users have had a love/hate relationship with iTunes. Originally introduced to help manage music collections and sync to iPod, iTunes has grown to a full blown media server, but unfortunately, the frame it was built on was often slow, cranky and unwieldy.

Today Apple has released version 11 of iTunes, which is a significant improvement over all of the previous versions.

Unfortunately, iTunes still does not do a good job of managing apps and app documents

I have also found that iTunes is not suited for managing large collections of movies or TV Shows – as it just takes too many clicks to scroll through our family’s collection.

iTunes and Device management has experienced an improvement significantly in ability to tell which device your media is on.

Introducing the amazing EggBot, a robotic egg designer. Determined to best my wife’s amazing Ukrainian egg designs, this Easter, I applied by tech prowess with my able assistant, the EggBot. Unfortunately, it is still a work in progress, but I remain hopeful that we can generate thousands of egg designs. Until the next Easter, we are practicing on ping pong balls!

Info on the EggBot can be found here.

A new form of advertising – your house

Apr 10
2011

Social networking companies are pushing the envelope on advertising mediums – but here is a new one – your house!

Thanks to Gizmodo.com for sharing from Adzookie.com which is a UK based company that is offering to pay homeowners mortgages if they let them paint their house with advertisements.

Although the Gizmodo posting indicates the advertisement is only in UK, when I went to their website it looks like they are up and running in the USA as well!

Nov 19
2010

I received this email from the Itunes staff yesterday –

Dear (my email),
iTunes Connect will be temporarily shut down from Thursday, December 23 to Tuesday, December 28 for the winter holidays. Access will resume on Friday, December 29.
During this shutdown, iTunes Connect will be unavailable. In addition, app releases and pricing changes which are scheduled to take place during the shutdown will be handled as follows:
• All releases will not appear in the App Store until Friday, December 29. This includes apps scheduled to appear on the App Store for the first time as well as updates to existing apps.
• Pricing changes will cause the app to become unavailable for purchase until Friday, December 29, at which point the app will become available at the new price. Please check to ensure you have not scheduled any price changes during this time.
Regards,
The iTunes Connect Team

helping kickstart a tool iPhone users could love?

I love the idea of a large group of people, with a small amount of money, can put someone in business and allow us to turn a simple concept into a real project. I’m talking about more than an add on for the iPhone, I’m talking about Kickstarter.
